These motor controllers from our trusted RS PRO range are designed for driving small DC and geared motors of up to 60 W. They're compatible with linear output motors and regulate their speed efficiently.

Unlike one-quadrant or two-quadrant controllers – or even a simple mechanical switch – these controllers have four quadrants. This means they can drive a motor in the opposite direction to its current velocity, giving you better control of deceleration. They also have a potentiometer and use a technique called 'armature feedback' to manage speed. They only require a single polarity voltage supply, whether you want to drive the motor in a clockwise or anti-clockwise direction. This means more control with less energy. For added safety and reliability, you can adjust the current limit to protect against short-circuits. The product also has in-built thermal safeguards to prevent overheating.
