The Microchip Technology Bluetooth module is an ultra-low power system on a chip, which includes an MCU, transceiver, modem, MAC, PA, TR switch and a Power Management Unit (PMU). It has a standalone Cortex-M0 applications processor with embedded flash memory and BLE connectivity. It has a qualified Bluetooth smart protocol stack that is stored in a dedicated ROM memory. The module has a firmware that includes many advanced features like L2CAP service layer protocols, security manager, attribute protocol (ATT), generic attribute profile (GATT) and the generic access profile.
