The Atmel ATMEGA256RFR2 Xplained Pro evaluation kit is used as a platform to evaluate the ATmega256RFR2 wireless System-on-Chip (SoC). The Xplained Pro SoC evaluation board is supported by Atmel Studio. With the Atmel embedded debugger (EDBG) there is no need for any other tools to program or debug the ATmega256RFR2. Designed for IEEE 802.15.4 compliant WPAN communication and ZigBee mesh network operation, the SoC can also support RF4CE, SP100, WirelessHART and 6LoWPAN protocols.
