It's mainly used in emergency light, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) and alarm and communication systems where continuity of supply is critical.

You can use it in cyclical applications, where the battery is charged and discharged on a regular basis. It's also maintenance-free, so there's no need to carry out time-consuming checks and servicing.
