Applications
Linear regulators are simple voltage regulator circuits commonly adopted in electronics. A Linear voltage regulator uses a closed feedback loop to bias a pass element to maintain a steady voltage across output terminals. Linear regulators are most commonly highly integrated, which include the pass element and feedback loop.
1.2 – 37 V Linear voltage regulator, ON Semiconductor
ON Semiconductor LM317 series is an adjustable Linear Voltage Regulator. The 3-terminal positive voltage regulator can offer an output current of 1.5A and more with an output voltage ranging between 1.2 to 37 V. The easy to use LM317 adjustable voltage regulator can be used in various applications such as on-card regulation and being utilised as a programmable output regulator it can be used as a precision current regulator by attaching a fixed resistor between the adjustment and output.
