The MCP9700/9701 series of thermistor ICs convert temperature to analogue voltage. A key advantage of this series of thermistor IC is it's resistance to parasitic capacitance and the ability to drive large capacitive loads. Applications include temperature monitoring, office equipment, home appliances, entertainment systems, hard disk drives, battery packs and any application that needs to measure a relative change in temperature.
The Microchip MCP9700 low-power linear active thermistor IC is a sensor whose output voltage is directly proportional to measured temperature. It operates on voltage range of 2.3V to 5.5V. This switch can accurately measure temperature from -40°C to +150°C. The output is calibrated to a slope of 10mV/°C and has a DC offset of 500mV. The offset allows reading negative temperatures without the need for a negative supply.
Tiny analog temperature sensor Maximum accuracy of ±4°C Linear Temperature Slope of 10mV/°C Very low operating current of 12μA No external components required Extended temperature range between -40°C to +125°C 5-lead plastic small outline transistor package
