It's unterminated at one end and has a straight female M12 connector at the other. This lets you link the endpoints in a control network with other equipment, such as an I/O device. An IP67 rating indicates the unit is fully dustproof and resistant to water up to a depth of 1m, so it can handle tough conditions. Its PUR insulation is flexible and resists wearing and abrasion to ensure that the 0.34mm² cores are protected in demanding work areas.
