RS PRO Single Pair Bayonet Adapter for Use with Bayonet Cap Style Thermocouples

From RS PRO a threaded bayonet adaptor for use with bayonet style thermocouples or temperature probes. This thermocouple adaptor consists of a male thread for process mounting and a bayonet style pin for attaching to the mating cap. The thermocouple is simply inserted and locked into the adapter which holds the sensing tip firmly in place in the process or against the surface it is measuring.

Bayonet probe thermocouples are designed for direct installation into the process, and this is where bayonet adaptors will fit. The bayonet fitting makes them suited for applications where the thermocouple sensor tip is fitted directly into a drilled hole or recess in machinery. Typical applications include the plastics and rubber industry where they are used in extrusion and moulding machinery.

The probes of these thermocouple sensors have an adjustable screw-threaded spring with a slotted bayonet fixing cap. The bayonet cap screws along this spring and allows the immersion length of the thermocouple probe to be adjusted. Once in place the bayonet cap is secured to a bayonet adapter allowing the thermocouple to be firmly held in place within the recess. The advantages of this method of fixing are;
