Thanks to the unit's two-pole construction, it can handle hefty voltages of up to 415V AC. As it's a type C device, it trips when it receives between five and ten times its 5A current rating. This means you can use it with confidence in high-powered applications that experience brief surges, like fluorescent lighting installations, control circuits and electric motors. For added safety, the trip-free design means you can't keep the circuit open by holding the breaker in the on position.
