The Renesas ICL32 series is a RS-232 transmitters/receivers with supply voltage Vcc Ranges from 3 to 5.5 volts. It is used in PDAs, notebook, and laptop computers where the low operational power consumption are censorious.

Automatic and manual powerdown features (except ICL3232)
Receiver hysteresis for improved noise immunity
Minimum data rate (250kbps)
Minimum slew rate (6V/μs)
Wide power supply range ( single +3V to +5.5V)
Low supply current in powerdown state (1μA)
