The external circlips are made from stainless steel for resistance to corrosion, making them suitable for outdoor use. They fit into a groove on the outside of the shaft, which holds them firmly in place at high rotational speeds. You can easily install or remove them with RS PRO circlip pliers.

The 50 rings in each pack come in a convenient storage box, making it easy to organise your components. You'll find retaining rings like these used in applications involving turning parts, such as motors, roller bearings or turbines.
