What's a bearing locknut?


A locknut is used to fit a bearing onto a shaft. It can also be used to mount a bearing with a tapered bore onto a tapered shaft seat. The locknut uses a locking mechanism to secure components such as gears and pulleys. Locking nuts are available with and without keyways.
