The housings incorporate polarization and keying features to prevent misalignment and mismating. A positive locking mechanism consisting of an easy to operate thumb latch provides a secure connection with the mating connector. This positive locking mechanism prevents accidental unmating caused by excessive shock or vibration. An audible click indicates that the connector is fully mated. These Mini-Fit Junior 4.2 mm plug and receptacle housings are available with a UL94V-0 or UL94V-2 housing material, a range of contact configurations and accept standard Mini-Fit and Mini-Fit Plus crimp terminals
