The timer is offered with two separate relays. When power is applied, the first relay (Attempts) will energize for the set on time delay period, then de-energize for the set off time delay period. This is classed as the first attempt. The same relay will continue to cycle on and off for the number of attempts set on the adjustment. If all the attempts are allowed to run, at the end of the last on time delay period, the first relay will de-energize and the second relay (Alarm) will energize and remain in this state. Power must be removed and re-applied to restart the function over again.
