The MCP45HVx1 family of devices from Microchip are Digital Potentiometers with an SPI Interface and on board Volatile Memory. The device family has dual power rails, one analogue one digital. The Analogue power rail can handle up to +36 V and can be implemented as a dual rail (±18 V) relative to the digital logic ground.
The MCP45HVx1 has a Write Latch (WLAT) function that inhibits the volatile wiper register from being updated (latched) with received data until the WLAT pin is low. This allows the specification of a condition where the volatile wiper register is updated (such as zero crossing).
