X Start is the latest generation of Contactors, Overloads and Relays from Moeller, based on the tried and tested DIL series. This generation of modular components benefits from the advances in technology for motor switching and control, which in turn gives the user a number of additional benefits.

Electronic power adjustment of the magnet system on the DC contactors enables very small frame sizes so that AC and DC units now have identical dimensions. This now allows direct arrangement of AC and DC contactors beside each other

Typical Applications
Three normally-open main contacts
DC contactors from 12A have an electronic drive that removes the need for coupling relays and all DC contactors up to 150A have a in-built suppressor circuit

How contactors operate?
Contactors, unlike relays, are specifically designed to connect to high current load devices. Used in larger-scale applications, a contactor is a switch that can be controlled remotely, specifically designed to switch a large amount of electrical power through its contacts. If a device has the ability to switch more than 15 amperes it is called a contactor. These devices also feature high coil voltages which is rare within relays.
