This single action plunger has a 100-ton capacity with a 150 mm stroke, made from aluminium so is lightweight weighing 40% less than a steel cylinder, plus includes handles for safe transport and mounts to a steel base plate. This single action hydraulic cylinder includes one female quick coupler and please note that if a coupler needs installing on the cylinder you must use Teflon around the male 3/8 NPT thread. Hydraulic cylinders are also known as a linear hydraulic motor. They are a mechanical actuator used to provide unidirectional force through unidirectional stroke. The power to the cylinder is provided from pressurised hydraulic fluid. Normally oil is used as the hydraulic fluid. Single acting cylinders are the simplest, hydraulic fluid pushed through into the cylinder through a port extending the rod then the rod returns to its previous position, spring action. A Double action cylinder has a port at each end of the piston and the hydraulic fluid then extends and retracts the piston, faster and more controlled.
